Full of vim and vigour. Review on Phir Hera Pheri

Sometimes a pot-pourri, no matter how unoriginal in its recipe, can turn out to be something delectable. Neeraj Vorahs PHIR HERA PHERI ,sequel to Hera Pheri is just that.A full timepass film that has entertaining performances by Paresh and Akshay Kumar. The comic moments are gelled well with the happenings on the screen. In very few bollywood movies you see this happening.

The film starts off where Hera Pheri ended. The three some- Raju (Akshay) Shaam (Sunil Shetty) and Babu Rao (Paresh Rawal) are basking in the sunshine of their wealth. But then a fool and his money part too soon. So be it with the ambitious and the avaricious. So they loose it all and back to torn vests chawl life and dreams….

Understandably, the plot leaves no room for logic and those who intend to be entertained are requested to throw reasoning out of the window. Neeraj makes full use of absurdity to generate excitement. His direction is simply brilliant.

The film loses pace in the second half as the plot unfolds too predictably. Still, deft performances by cast produce systematic outbursts of laughter. One does see uncanny resemblances with the Hollywood film, The lost stock yet PHP -- unlike many of its contemporaries -- does not become a weak copy.

The cinematography looks slick .The music is poor though.

The film sees some commendable performances by Paresh and Akshay in that order. Paresh seems to be riding the height of excellence very fast.Akshay in his usual comic style, drives home a point: He is just cut out for such roles. Suniel’s performance is not without hamming. The actor doesn’t seem to deliver his lines without inhibition. Even his comic range is limited.

Bipasha has a marginal role except at the movie’s fag end. Rimi shows glimmers of good acting.

All in all, PHP is a movie full of vim and vigour. It regales you, makes you laugh and sends you back home with broad smiles on your face.If you want to see a good masala mind-bender these lazy hazy days of summer,Phir Hera Pheri is a safe bet. Though not in the riotous league of comedy classics, you will enjoy it for sure!
