Why the hell title this film 'PHIR Hera Pheri.'? I knew it would be below the mark. The true magic created by Hera Pheri was five years back. This time, neither the director nor the writer could create it again. Phir Hera Pheri, unlike Hera Pheri is a comedy of errors. Its like Mr. Bean movie, making monkey-like faces, accidentally pushing and beating in ateempt to make us laugh. But they are not entire losers. Read on.

Plot

The plot is too complicated for me explain. Raju, Shyam and Baburao become really rich after their hilarious encounter with Kabira in Hera Pheri. But Bipasha (a con-artist) steals all of their money and they become road pati again. This time they plan to rob a gangster's house to become rich. There are quite many good one liners. But some of them are ditto copied from the first film. The movie hangs due to the comedy of errors. The plot is too complex but fairly enjoyable all the same.

Technicalities

Need I say anything? Maybe you a bollywood film is incomplete without technical mistakes. There are loads and loads of them in Pheri Hera Pheri. It will take me about half an hour if I type them here. But we'll excuse. We've been doing that al the time now, havent we? The worst goof up was the gorrila part. It was quite clear that it was a man inside a gorrila costume. This part was included, I feel, just to ensure continuation of the comedy of errors.

Music

'Aaaoooooo' Yeah you guessed t right. The music director is none other than our nepali 'aaaaoooo shaabji' AKA Himesh Reshamiya and he hasn't given up his nasal twang yet. The songs are just four-five. Only 'Ae Meri Zoharajabi' is good (despite Himesh singing the song!) Other songs are just average. But yeah, they have good beats. Over all, the music is just average. But honestly, thats what just I think. Music is entirely an individual's choice. Its up to you.

Performances

Who steals the show you ask? No one but our own Baburao Ganpat Rao Apte(Paresh Rawal). He showed no weaknesses in acting. The same dhoti, the same chashma and the same attitude. His scernes are a treat to watch. Akshaye was good as usual. Suniel Shetty was above average. He didn't give in his best I say. Others like Rimmi Sen, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav etc. are alright.

Over-all

This movie is not too bad. It seemed to me as a sole attempt to rake in some good bucks. The opening received is mind-boggling but the drop will be equally mind boggling. If you like comedy of errors, this film is for you. If you want a movie that makes sense, this is not your cup of tea. I would rate this film between two and three stars. The plot is not-truly-beliaveable, the music is average, the acting is good, the cast is solid. All in all, its less then worth a watch just once. You are not fully satisfied when you leave the theatre.

P.S Dont miss the trailor of Munnna Bhai part II.

Please RRC. Thanks!
