*First experience
This is my first water purifier purchase. After doing lot of research on the purification process of many brand and comparing it all together, I finally zeroed down to Philips. Since Philips has sliced the prices and dealer was giving a free gift also, last April 2008 I finally purchased it.
Installation
Dealer told me that I will have to call Philips customer support for new purchase and installation and get the appointment for the installation. I did the same and got to know that for next 4 days service guy can not come. it was ok with me so I finally got the appointment.
Four days gone like anything and my son was very excited about it too. On fourth day I checked with them and they told that installation guy will come tomorrow. Next day in the morning installation guy called me and checked for the time and fixed appointment around 12:00. I waited and waited till evening and he does not show up. similarly for the next day. I called Philips care unit and asked about the guy and they said they will check and let me know. no call back yet. next day this guy again called me and said he will be coming today. finally he arrived.
Service force not enough
On inquiring about the delay he said that we do not have enough field technicians and he lives on the other side of Bangalore and his office is on the other end. When he has few calls then he clubs together and finishes calls based on the area. strange answer as when you buy something you need someone to quickly come to install and demo the product. Usually in other companies installation guy comes within 48 hours. May be if sales increase Philips will increase service force as well.
*Quality and purification
*In my opinion purification process is just fine in this water purifier but it would have been great if they would have provided some taste enhancer process also. Though it purifies the water to great extent but taste does not improve. I also noticed that when you drink cold water then you do not notice this thing but when you drink normal water then this is prominent.
Build and look
I really liked the look of the water purifier and actually quite impressed with its sleek design. It does not take lots of space and look quite sleek and decent.
Indicators
Good thing about the PWP(Philips Water Purifier) is that it has indicators to show that it is doing the purification and now it is normal(switch off kind of mode, to save electricity). It also has sound alert to indicate power supply when comes from off to on.
Maintenance
This is the only Water Purifier which does not require service guy to come for replacing the filter. PWP has front cover to remove and change filter, quite easy and anybody can do it. really simple.
Filters costs around Rs 500/-. One important thing to note is that generally you need to change filter after every six months. This is true with all purifiers.
*Satisfaction
*I am 75% satisfied with the purifier so far. Other than the customer service I do not find any other problem so far.

*Even today the purifier is busy in purifying the water at its best and has not given me any trouble so far. Based on its one year performance and trouble free working, I can definitely recommend this now. go for it.
