I bought a Philips HTS 3355/98 5.1 home theater system in 2010 for Rs.25000. It worked well for 1 year, but as soon as warranty is over, the problems started. Frequently the power button will be dead completely and Philips technicians takes more than a month's time to fix. They say spares are not available readily.
Now it is third time I have given my HTS to Philips authorized service center for the same power problem. It's been a month they have kept my system in their workshop and they are waiting for the spares to come.
Every time it goes for repair, it will cost you between Rs.3000 - Rs.6000. Now they have told me it may take more than Rs.6000/- to replace the power socket. Once I have taken my HTS system to try and show other home theater repair centers. But every vendor declined because it is Phillips HTS, and told me that Philips spares will not be available in the market, and it is waste of money to repair it, as the problem will reoccur.
I would never again buy any Phillips electronics item in my lifetime.
