I bought this product sometime in march, 2017 and have used it intermittently. I am disappointed with the quality of the product.
Although the Philips GoGear Mix MP3 Player can play high-resolution audio for you in MP3 or WMA formats with its FullSound technology. The FST works together with its advanced Digital Signal Processor( DSP) to produce zappy bass, amplified voice and clear instrumental sound. The dedicated audio compression technology of this GoGear MP3 Player reduces your CD audios up to 10x with no impact on the authentic sound quality. Compress large CD files into MP3 or WMA formats or download MP3/WMA songs directly from authorized websites to listen to a high-fidelity reproduction on this GoGear Mix MP3 Player. You also have a digital FM radio with 30 presets to tune to your preferred radio stations and memorize these permanently on this Mix MP3 Player for anytime play.
But there are two major defects that make this product unusable. The first thing first: its battery. The battery back-up is just horrible. I have never managed to use it for more than an hour. The battery back-up of one hour is possible if you do not shuffle the songs, or if you don't change the FM Radio station. It is just horrible. I can't imagine the use of such music player which has such a poor battery power. Second defect is that you can't control the volume from the control button of your headphone. Every Time, you have to take this product out of your product and control( increase or decrease the volume) the volume. It's really irritating. So, I consider this product to be completely worthless, useless, and unusable for the desired purpose. I strongly recommend everyone not to buy this product and not to waste your 1500-1700 for something which you can not use as you wish.
At the stated price it is a good deal no doubt, but do not expect high on performance from this player. The sound levels are very poor but the sound quality is good. The headphones that come along with it are absolute waste, they kill the experience actually. Kindly buy in canal phones for better audio output. File transfer is a cakewalk, Its just drag and drop, no software needed. Battery backup is decent, not upto my expectation. If you listen to half an hour a day, you might have to charge once in three days, that is avg of 1.5 to 2 hr backup. Radio option is available. Unlike its predecessor this one isnt very user friendly.
