This review is regarding a tv that we bought . its a philips make (model no: 21pt8867/94). we purchased it on 1st week of april, mainly for watching the new IPL and F1 racing, along with some other favourite programs . everything was smooth for 2 weeks  and one day it happened...tv stopped responding after a loud sound n bit of smoke .


since its only 2 weeks old , we tried to give it to the customer service(bangalore) to resolve the issue. we made a call to them and they told that an executive will be assigned for it. we waited for that 'representative' for 2 weeks..after several calls he finally came to collect the tv(thank god!!!)


he  told that this mit be because of a power surge and showed us the capacitor that was blown out(remember the smoke??). oh we were releaved that nothing serious happend and we can get the issue resolved shortly . then the first shock (may be 2nd) fell on us. he told it will take him 10 days(?????) to resolve it and will bring the circuit of the tv back to us.


days went by  10 , 20.....regular calls wer made n we expected the television back "today or tomorow". nothing happend. we were getting really frustrated with this kind of service, especially from a brand that we grow up hearing gud. atlast when we got him once on his mob we asked him to resolve n bring back the board or just bring it back so that we can get it repaired from a local shop( think philips guys dont know to repair their stuff). he said "ok!" (don know for wat purpose). n again nothing happend..calls wer made daily .n onde day he said " sir, I will bring the board today, n u can take it to a local shop for repairing" ( think of the 2 week old tv , still under warranty). I don know whether they are trained to behave like this or not(company should be proud of ppl like this). even after saying this nothing happened he dint return the board.


as I write thie review IPL semifinals have been scheduled. we are grateful to philips for giving us this amount of support. but for them our IPL should have been in tv (now we depend on newspaper n friends for updates).
