This is not an appropriate forum for this opinion. Even then, this is the nearest one I could find. Please forgive me for this. And the more important thing is the content rather than the form. Read on: whoever interested in pet clinic should also be looking for food for dog.

What should your pet dog/cat eat?

In one sentence, your pet dog should eat what you eat at home, other than the fried food. Contrary to the popular belief of ''pet food'' and the huge propoganda around it, the best food for dog is not dog food.

Give him plenty of raw vegetables like carrot, tomato and cucumber. These are the best for the dog. And given in a rotation, your dog will love to eat these. Give milk, boiled meat also.

Discard packed dog food. They are useless, and may be harmful. Tell me: would you not revolt if you are told only to eat the packed food (for humans) and nothing else?

Question: The dog deliciously eats the dog food (eg. pedigree).

Answer: Just because something is delicious, it does not qualify to be healthy. The manufacturers put some vegetable oil and iodized salt on that to make it tasty.

Now, what exactly is in a dog food like pedigree? You will be stunned to know that it is made of dead or diseased poulty animals, which are unfit for human consumption. Now, the poultry meant for human consumption are rigorously examined - there are certain strict standards for that. And whichever fails to meet those standards are not discarded but are processed and propogated as ''dog food''. There is a huge industry grown on this. They exploit our love for the dog to further their vested interests.

Probing further, ask your dealer (or whoever) what is the preservative used in any dog food. You will be shocked to learn that the preservatives used are banned in the US and Europe for obvious reasons. Medical practitioners have conclusively demonstrated that the preservatives damage the liver almost irreversibly.

Discard dog food, and give him home food. Home food (minus the fried items) are guaranteed to work, and dog foods are guaranteed to fail. Make an educated choice. Your pet is not someone out of your system - he is a part of your system. Your pet did not tell you ''make me your pet''. You have taken him as a pet. It is your duty to read in between the lines what the vets and other ''well-wishers'' claim.
