Points which will help you decide.

Let me say that my experience of petrol and diesel cars may be enough for you to judge, but you can take my word for it. Experience counts na?:)

Ok for some serious stuff. I was about to buy a car a few months back. And I was in the same dilemma as to what type of vehicle I shud go in for. So I asked around, meeting people in garages, owners of cars, etc. Here is what I understood of both petrol n diesel cars. Let's go step by step.

PETROL CAR:

  1. Cheaper than diesel cars.

  2. Good pickup.

  3. Less noise.

  4. Less pollution(i guess looking at those trucks).

  5. Spare parts cheaper.

  6. Unleaded fuel not available in villages(if you looking for a countryside outing)

DIESEL CAR:

  1. Expensive than petrol cars.

  2. Not-so-good pickup.

  3. Makes noise.

  4. Car vibrates(incase its an amby)

  5. Spare parts expensive.

  6. Diesel is CHEAP.

  7. Fuel is available in both rural and urban areas(no problem of leaded/unleaded)

The points I have listed should be enough. If not, lets wait for more inputs to come in.
