Review : Tucked a little bit away from the road, Peter and Wang can be a bit difficult to locate. Just a bit ahead from Tatwagyan Vidyapeeth on Ghodbunder Road as you travel away from Thane, keep looking right. There is a smallish building called Pride Park just opposite Lakim. It is not right up on the road, but a bit inside. There is parking space in front on the restaurant and can take upto 5 to 6 cars. That is really significant, as its not really common to find parking spaces in front of restaurants.
Although the restaurant has just a one shop wide entrance at the ground level, which makes it look like a small restaurant, you are pleasantly surprised to see a fight of steps which take you up to the upper level which is very spacious and with a truly international styling. Very clean and ordered. You can take tables near the glass wall and enjoy the view (or watch over your car ..heh) as you savour the Mexican and Chinese delicacies that this restaurant offers. The restaurant manager can tell you a story of how the name came into being. They have a placard which tells a story of a Mexican and a chinese guy meeting together and setting up a restaurant specialising in both cuisines. I was however wondering whether Pedro would have been a better name instead of Peter.
The waiters are very polite, courteous and more importantly ''knowledgeable''. They know what they are offering. I love hotels where I can pester the waiters by telling them how exactly I want a certain food item cooked. Most of the times, the waiters will not heed you and bring in the default menu anyways. This guys listen and also get a hint of what you are trying to tell them. If you do not like your food well done, they will prepare it just like the way you want it. We did have one newbie waiter at one time though, who was clumsy ..but the head waiter handled him very well.
The lighting and decor is very neat and pleasant. A reflected light yellow mixed with the daylight and a yellowish tinged light during the night make the ambience truly delightful without being too gloomy. The best part is of course the food. I would say its safe to try out almost anything as whatever I have tried from Fajitas to mocktails everything has been good. If you are the kind who is more into Indian kind of food, (spicy and well done) make it known to the waiter as by default they could serve you international quality food which might not be so spicy.
Pricewise its not very expensive. It could easily fit into your credit limit. heh.. no really. Its not that expensive. Although I dont remember the exact amount, a group of nine having a very sumptuous lunch was less than $100 which is like INR 4600 almost. Okay, we were entertaining some international guests. I don't usually end up spending so much on a one time lunch ;) What mattered was, the impression they had of India was excellent. It is however also a great place to take your girlfriend/wife out, so its just not a business people oriented hotel.

Overall its an awesome restaurant, one of the best in Thane. Three visits till now and I can swear by this.
