If you are in Kolkata, and want to have a taste of the city, you must visit Peter Cat. Well, even the Chessire Cat from Alice in Wonderland will be happy to visit Peter Cat!
When it comes to Peter Cat, everything's a big wow, specially the food. Oh my, oh my! You will keep licking your fingers and smacking your lips when the soft Kababs will melt in your mouth, when the splendid sizzlers will flirt with your taste buds, and when the wonderful drinks will take your mind to seventh heaven. The menu card itself is a treat. Shaped like the head of a cat, the menu card has a lot of wit and humor in it - specially catchy headlines like - Aphrodisiacs from the Harem!
I am mentioning my top five favorite Peter Cat goodies here:
Chello Kabab - The best, the Baap of all Kababs. Peter Cat's Chello Kabab is a must have food before you die. The splendid varities of Kababs, the softness of rice and butter, the egg poach - umm!!!
Chicken Stake Sizzler - This babe will just announce herself to your table. Your teeth will slowly delve into the soft chicken pieces, and if you close your eyes you might see an oasis.
Mutton Rang - Almost a whole goat! If you are with a big group, this dish is an essential. It's one of the best mutton preparations.
Prawn Cocktail - Just enjoy the rich taste. You gotta be flamboyant to like it. Lolz!
Fresh Lime Soda Sweet - Traditional as it might sound, watch out for this surprise. When they make it in Peter Cat, they ensure it's the best. The nimboo, the sweetness, the taste - Bole toh Jhakkas!
The ambience is great. Perfect proportion of light and darkness. It's a centrally air conditioned restaurant. Hard drinks are also available. A separate family section is functional in the first floor. Waiters are very well mannered and patient. The only negative part is the huge crowd gathering here, normally in weekends. So if you don't have a prior booking, sometimes you might have to wait for 10-20 minutes.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Park Street in a section of the Stephen Court building, just beside Music World. Be there, you will have a lifetime experience.
