Pepsi-Yeh Pyaas Hai Badi. Review on Pepsi 'Yeh Pyaas Hai Badi' commercial

Scene 1: With a big red heart shaped balloon, Saif hints at something to Shahrukh. Jingle: ''Size bada hai apni pyaas ka rok sake...na koi rasta.'' Suggesting to Shahrukh that they should pay a visit to the girls hostel, the two start off confidently.

Scene 2: But brought to an abrupt stop by a tall and hefty man they are asked, ''Kabutaron kahan ud rahe ho...'' and bursting their balloon, he orders them, ''...do the parking.'' Even as the two nurse their broken heart, Shahrukh suddenly comes up with a plan. Jingle: ''Darr se badi hai, phikar se badi hai.''

Scene 3: Back to work, they refuse entry to a black car saying, ''Full hai.'' Seeing an empty parking lot the driver is about to pick up a fight but is... ...shooed away. Jingle: ''Hichak se badi hai, sharam se badi hai.'' A red car drives in next the duo let it pass

Jingle: ''Pyaas.'' Bringing to a stop a yellow car, Saif greets the occupants, ''Hello ladies,'' and then apologises for not letting them park, ''I'm sorry.'' Smiling coyly, they plead, ''Please.'' and Saif almost gives in but one look from Shahrukh and he is back on track, ''No, I'm sorry, no yellow.'' Jingle : ''Pyaas.''

Scene 4: Next they bring in a Pepsi truck while the jingle continues, ''Phikar se badi, sharam se badi, hadh se badi...hadh se badi hai yeh pyaas, sabse badi hai pyaas. Yeh pyaas badi hai.'' Stopping a VIP convoy, Shahrukh,

to the VIP's delight informs him, ''Aap ke liye special jagah hai.'' Jingle: ''Phikar se badi, sharam se badi, hadh se badi...''

Scene 5: Successful in their plan they honk loudly and along with her friends Preity comes out to find a big surprise awaiting her. Down below the duo had parked the cars to form a heart, with the VIP car in the center, its beacon beaming bright red and blue light.

Scene 6: Jingle: ''Pepsi.'' Completely floored by this gesture, Preity blows them

a kiss. Acknowledging the kiss the two however fight over it. Jingle: ''Yeh pyaas hai badi.''

Refreshing Advertisement, the only bother is it is too much reminiscent of the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho! Fiction and ideas are all acceptable when it comes to good advertising. The models department is all plus. Kudos to the ad director for going through the humangus effort effort. The underlining of the ad is recognition of youth's thirst for more. But I would expect Pepsi to ask the copywriters to be more innovative than just translating the International tag line. Here ''Thirst for More'' becomes ''Yeh Pyaas Hai Baadi''. Some originality Huh?
