I had placed on order for a table with Pepperfry. Before placing the order, I called them up to get further details about the finish, quality etc. There answers were convincing and hence placed an online order and paid for it. Order ref # 303244655. When the product arrived, I had to follow up with them to get it fixed.


The quality of the product was well below standard, totally different from the details given in the product page and info received from the customer-care. Worst still, the the table top came off, when we tried to move the table by few inches. It is one of the worst quality workmanship.


I tried giving an online complaint. The complaint page requires the picture of the item to be uploaded with size upto 1 mb. Even when I tried uploading the picture, which was less than 50KB, their system was not accepting and was displaying error message " pl upload file less than 1 mb", probably due to some bugs. Hence I had called the customercare & also sent a mail to them using Feedback feature. I was also asked to upload the pictures using the feedback option which I did.


Pepperfry called back after a day and told me that they will evaluate the return. They sent a carpenter who came and dismantled the damaged table, so that it can be taken back by Pepperfry. It is more than 3 weeks since then and no further action had been taken by Pepperfry either to take back or refund the money. Mails to them remain unanswered.


This unresponsiveness of Pepperfry does not augur well, for a large ecommerce company. There seems to be lack of co-ordination / communication gaps between the different agencies. where even after 3 weeks after the carpenter had dismantled the table no action to take it back had been . that too despite reminders.


I urge users to be careful while dealing with Pepperfry
