In childhood days, I heard the story about that blue fox, who tried to scare others pretending to be someone else! But after growing up, this People brand will turn me into something like that, only in human form, I didn't have that much imagination at that time! The only difference, I didn't pretend to be someone else, just tried to wear something new on a special occasion.and ended up wiping color off me hiding in the washroom!
Let me tell you the whole story. I had to buy something from Jabong as the credits were getting expired. There was a family function and I planned to buy a kurti considering the upcoming summer. Blue is one of my favorite colors, so after rejecting and selecting many kurtis I settled down for this long sleeved kalamkari kurti from People. I ordered through Jabong and it reached me within 4 days. The first this I noticed after unwrapping the package is, it's too big! May be I considered myself heftier, but actually looked like a minnow wearing a whale skin! And there was no time left for return and exchange. However, my aunty consoled me saying that she will alter it for me, after washing it once. This color always bleeds, so the precaution.
And how it bled! Half bucket of surf water and 2 more with water, everything, including my nails, palms and fingers turned blue. I had to scrape the color off the bucket and bathroom floor too! After the kurti dried, it shrank a great deal.I was wondering how much alteration will be needed, but aunty had to do very little and it fitted me considerably.
The real stunt was left for the day of function. I was sitting in my car when hubby asked me, "Have you applied make up?" As I never do that, he sounded confused. Once we reached the venue, his doubt was cleared. The make up was actually the color from my dress, which started bleeding again with the heat and sweat! The result was not pleasant at all. I was feeling uncomfortable sitting on the spread which started turning blue(a white cloth spread on wet grass!) By the time of lunch, a kid came running, "Aunty, you are turning into avatar!" I took a look at my hands, and that's it, those were blue! I rushed to the washroom, to my horror I discovered my neck, chin area, hands and top portion of the white leggings I was wearing(I didn't dare to explore further)- all are turning blue! I tried to wipe the color off as much as possible, but rest of the time of the function it was quite embarrassing. Hubby cracked a joke about me being poisoned, but I was fuming inside.how an otherwise good day turned into a complete disaster!
Please guys, from people, use some permanent color yaar.that sticks on the cloth rather than the one who's wearing it! Never ever I will buy from this brand, my fbb is the best!
