Do you want a simple to carry camera, durable, easy to operate and nice to have camera.Accept my recommendation and buy this( I am not the dealer for this!).
Photography is not my hobby-so professionals please back-off.

Excellent price- available in Rs 5000.

EASE OF CARRYING:
Really very small.just bigger than a mobile phone. I carry it in a pouch attached to my belt.
PICTURE QUALITY:
Excellent.Very many options. Good quality pictures.
STORAGE FACILITY:
Comes with 1GB storage disk.You can store as much as 5GBs of storage.
MOVIES SHOOTING:
POssible. High qulaity movies.
BATTERY LIFE:
Delighted with battery life.I am using rechargeble batteries Sanyo-2700.Good for 50 shots with flash.
DISADVANTAGE:
No eye-view finder-but large display screen makes that unnnecessary
