Please read fully; Don’t get cheated by Paytm.

I had purchased Sony Xperia Z1 in June 2015 for about Rs.26000 on paytm . After two months, the phone fell from my hand and the touch screen broke. I took it to Sony Authorized service center and they told me that SONY MOBILES SOLD ON PAYTM HAVE NO WARRANTY IN INDIA and refused to provide service. I reported this back to paytm and they wanted confirmation from Sony Authorized service provider. I got email confirmation from Sony Authorized service center that SONY MOBILES SOLD ON PAYTM HAVE NO WARRANTY IN INDIA AND WILL NOT BE SERVICED BY THEM and forwarded to them. Paytm says that they need it in writing instead of email. I don't find this logical.

If Paytm has any doubt, they can verify the service center details on Sony website and call the service center to confirm.  Later I asked Paytm  to provide me the sample format of the "Denial of Service" letter that they are asking me to get from Sony Service. They have not been able to provide it to me even after multiple reminders over the past two weeks and they keep on asking me provide DOS letter without providing me the format.  It is now clear to me that Paytm is doing that since they just wants to eat my money and don’t want to address the issue.

Another frustrating thing is that their support is only on email. There is no way you can speak to a human being from their support team. Now I have realized that Paytm is not providing phone support because their intention is to frustrate customers away from any claims, by sending same routine message on email. I also escalated to their service head and grievance office.  Of course, no use. Again I get the routine message on email. At Paytm, customer service doesn’t exist.

It is shocking that PAYTM STILL ADVERTISES ON SITE THAT SONY MOBILES ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH IS FALSE INFORMATION.  Paytm customers are advised to stay away from buying anything from Paytm.

Stay away from Paytm.  Paytm is now "Cheat-TM"!
