Barefaced piracy in banking sectors

Talk about sheer effrontery and modern barefaced buccaneering in the guise of banking!t This is the 2nd time in 2 years that PayPal has thought up some stunt to stopping Indians from gaining easy access to their accounts or just suspending them without any prior notice.A couple of years ago, they wanted us to confirm that we were what we were(Indians, I guess!), And unless we proved that we existed, we had no access to our accounts which were suspended.

What is this, do they consider us Indians to be congenital mugs to be taken advantage of, because we take a lot of guff without protest?

Now, for those who came in late; what has happened is for those people who are working on Odesk(read Indians to which work is being outsourced). They got a notification on Saturday that they could not get their money through PayPal.That means they had to look for some alternative way to gain access to their hard-earned wampum. It means that Odesk was kind enough to give them a good alternative. They needed to sign in for Paypayoneer or some other vague name just like that, starting with Pay. One has never heard of it. Nevertheless, one would be graciously allowed to sign in for an Odesk MasterCard without paying the fees of $9.95 to sign in.

Every single transaction being made through that card puts $2 in Odesk's pocket. Many Indian Odesk providers were also very shocked to find out that PayPal had sent their payments back to the buyers. Apart from that, PayPal had put their accounts on a negative rating.Point to offer. This ex-banker had $$14.25 in her PayPal account, with which she bought things on eBay USA and eBay UK. She went to her account yesterday, only to find out that PayPal had managed to garner the money unto itself, and now she does not have a single red cent in her account. One wonders, how many Indian PayPal accounts have been assimilated by PayPal in this arbitrary manner.

If this is not sheerly malicious and frankly tiresome effrontery, one wonders what is. I used PayPal for my transactions on eBay USA and UK. I am extremely disgusted by their arbitrary methods in taking away all my hard-earned money which they need to reimburse immediately, unless they want to be posted on forums and websites as modern-day buccaneers. But could they care? What I think is that PayPal want all of us Indians to verify accounts by giving them our MasterCard information.

Anyway, I have decided to do all my buying on eBay through draft, if ever or choose rediff.com for Internet buying purposes. And they are going to be pilloried on CNN.com, ABS news and Mouthshut.com if my money is not returned back to me. But the only problem is that is my money is gone in the wind, and these buccaneers know that "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me" and could not care less. There should be some sort of legal tribunal in the USA to haul them up for questionable business ethics.
