After the Bangkok Sojourn was over I left for Pattaya with lots of anticipation, after all it is place famous for all the wrong reasons. My wife was very much anxious that I was Single (Although I was not ready to mingle but curious enough to watch some action) in Thailand and on top of it visiting Pattaya again single. Allow me to tell you something about geography of Pattaya. Pattaya is a beach front city around 2 hour drive from Bangkok. It is divided in to 5 roads which run semicircle while meeting at dolphin crossing on one side and walking street on other side.

First is beach road ( Beach front road), this is where most of action is. 1st road, 2nd road, 3rd road and Sukhumvit Road with numerous soi’s connecting them. So if you are planning to book a hotel try to get it on beach road or 1st road, any further it will be far from beach.

Things to do

Ride Water Scooter – 700 bhat for 30 min, but one can negotiate for 350 or 400 bhat for 15 min which is sufficient.

Do Parasailing– 800 bhat for 15 min ride (a must)

Do Underwater walking – 1200 bhat for 30 min walk (a absolute must)

Do Bungy jumping – 1800 bhat for three jumps (my favourite)

Go to Underwater World –A must if you are with family (500bhat/person)

Gems Gallery:Tour is free, so is soft drinks, so is a joy train ride. Nobody will pester you to buy anything so why not go there plus after the tour they will give you a drop anywhere in city again free. They also have a showroom in Bangkok so simply tell them that you have bought a bracelet from Bangkok showroom and vice versa. It works.

Go to Walking Street– A must for singles a place filled with go – go bars (read Bangkok review for more details)

Alcazar Cabaret –It is a Dance show by transvestites or transsexual or lady boys as they are known in Thailand. Very graceful good sets but go if you like gaudy bollywood item numbers. BTW for the show I attended one of the number they performed on was bhumbro – bhumbro from mission Kashmir. Otherwise no nudity here.

Things to be Avoided

Shopping – Leave your shopping instinct in Bangkok

Precautions, food, vat refund are all same as in Bangkok ( Read i8it in Bangkok for details)

So if you are an adventure sport freak like I am step aside a good budget for Pattaya and go berserk while you are there.
