Pattaya is the centrifugal force of Tourism in Thailand. Its one of the most popular attractions, not yet in Thailand but around the world.
Its beaches are fun and it has a lot of great Hotels. Its not far away from Thailand, a 2-3 hour drive my the capital city of Bangkok.
Pattaya beaches have it all. There have several water sports and every season they come with newer ones. I went there often during the mid-90s. The they had this Para-sailing (a parachute mid air with those fast Thai motorboats taking you around the sea) and Banana Boat (a long air-filled tube where four protected with life-jackets could be seated, the boat would topple mid-sea).
There is so much in Pattaya and you would never find a dull moment. Pattaya is famous for its shopping crowd. You gets all kinds of memorabilia and impressions which stay with you for life.
