Govinda returns and has everyone rolling!. Review on Partner

David Dhawan is finally back….. and so is Govinda. Well, Salman was here and was having a good time at that too. Partner is a comeback of good nonsensical comedy. Its probably the best one in a long time,

perhaps even better than No Entry. It is what you expect from a Govinda film. Leave your brains home and enjoy yourself.

Inspired partly by Shaagird *and partly by *Hitch, this film entertains throughout and with a freshness in terms of the humour, the look, the music and the women. The jokes are different and they will make you laugh unless you are among those who think that Govinda cannot make people laugh and

he simply tries to make people laugh.

Partner is funny and illogical but hey! You’re not watching it for a story or logic right? If you are, then you are a bigger joke.

Govinda reinvents himself at what he does best and he succeeds to a great extent. All his fans will love him again in this film that also has him sharing a great chemistry with Salman Khan. We are ready to see

more of them together for sure.

Govinda playing a wannabe Bobby Darling is outrageous

and so is Suresh Menon playing Kiran.

Govinda’s dance practice will make you roll on the floor. This Bloody Bhaskar

Diwakar Chaudhary has a commanding screen presence that even the likes of

Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Johnny Lever have been unable to match.

Salman playing the LoveGuru is his whacky self and matches his own performance from No Entry, which was good in any case. He is never going to be able to match himself as Prem from ANDAZ APNA APNA but he is still good in such roles.

Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta look hot and gorgeous. Rajpal Yadav deserved a longer role as his did not make sense anyway. Partner’s music is truly foot-tapping. A good blend of singers, different music styles and the absence of Himesh Reshamiya make it a welcome relief.

‘Soni Ke Nakhre’, ’Partner’, ’You’re my love’, ‘Maria Maria’ *are all pretty good tunes to

shake a booty or two. Apart from Govinda, the movie’s biggest highlight are the dialogues. Sanjay Chhel and David Dhawan have come up with some hilarious lines which are often comic poetry. ‘*Hi

my name is Bobby and this is my hobby, how do you like this Lobby?’

may sound stupid but when Govinda says it, the dialogue does turn out to be laugh worthy afterall. Partner is a brainless comedy but people will enjoy it because we need a dose of these kind of films much as we need the serious or top quality cinema that is now not uncommon.

We need a Parnter type film along with every ‘Gandhi, My Father’ so we don’t remain in the serious frame of mind.

So it is a guarantee that Partner is a timepass entertainer flick like most of David Dhawan-Govinda films have been. If that does not appeal to you, then you can skip this review. Oh but you have read all

of it already……. Never mind then.
