John Grisham is a well known author of thriller novels on law with a few exceptions like The Painted House.
I just happened to read this novel as the next in the series of my grisham collection. And right from the page one, the reader is interested to know more. The Novel has a great plot really well thought by Grisham. How the hero escapes showing himself dead and with 90 million dollars in his hand. With all that he has left behind him, he is sure that he'll be caught some day. And then his plans when he is caught and how he is caught.
How he'll be averting all the cases against him, many of them. Really planning is all what this novel contains. The planning in this case stretches for around 5-6 years, right from the day the hero finds his wife cheating on him.
The Hero, Patrick, remains cool headed throughout the story, having well planned for any scenario that he faced. I'll do injustice if I reveal any details here.
The ending is also very different. While reaching the end of the novel, the reader will surely think of the ending but will not want that to happen, especially after reading throughtout the novel about the perfect plans of the hero, Patrick.
Other Novels of Grisham like The Runaway Jury, The Firm have been converted to movies and The partner is also very much there to be converted to a movie.
Finally, the novel is light reading and can be easily finished in a weekend...
