Well, here's an anecdote about our (myself and my wife) 4 day stay at Park Hyatt Goa.

We reached there at 5 p.m after a long drive of around 475 kms (from Pune). After glancing the Hyatt property, all the indolence caused due to driving vanished. The place where it's loacted and the way in which the property is developed is just mind blowing. There's nothing second about it.

Located in the Cansaulim village, Park Hyatt is a cool (not from temperature perspective! :)), tranquil and enticing place where one can relax and just forget the daily chores of hectic city life. One can get a feel of being on a different planet...maybe! The property is really beautiful, no doubt. The rooms are a pleasant surprise and have sunken bath tubs, private sit outs (almost every room has got that) with magnificent garden and sea views (One can't get a direct sea view from the window, like Fort Aguada but would never regret it). Hyatt, as compared to Aguada, scores high on the room size and interiors. One of the striking features is the gigantic (and still cozy!) swimming pool. It's known to be one of the biggest in Asia. Do take a dive in the pool, come out and relax on the deck chairs. The overall ambience, cosmopolitan atmosphere is really a different experience and it's fun talking to people from different cultural backgrounds.

The beach (Arossim) is just a 2-3 minutes walk off the wonderful lawns. The beach is clean and one won't see much rush of the local crew. I suppose it's privately held by Hyatt. Don't get scared if unpredictable rains pour in; even when on beach, umbrella's are available with the security. Overall the beach is a pleasant experiencce.

Coming to the food part. Here Hyatt lacks behind. The food is not something for which you will really miss Hyatt. The service is also not that good. When there is a lot of crowd, the people serving within the restaurants are really confused and one can easily make out that they are overloaded with work. The man power is low. To get a glass of water I had to ask thrice and still got an answer from the waiter- "Give me sometime!" Sometimes people don't know that a dessert is complimentary with the buffet dinner (at Village Plaza), unless he glances through the menu card. If you make a mistake of ordering goan sea food from "Casa Sarita", the goan restaurant, to "Village Plaza", endeavour being patient in terms of waiting time. In this case the ordering process is totally asynchronous.

Hospitality lakes a left seat when we compare it with the Taj hospitality. It's ok, but still can be improved a bit. While checking out from the hotel, there is nothing like a feedback request form...nor does any marketing chap approaches you to ask for the feedback. I think the hotel is running full, so the staff is not much bothered about these things.

Overall : It's a wondeful experience staying and wandering within Park Hyatt Goa. If you compromise on the food and hospitality it's the best place to be.
