When I first heard about the Park Avenue Beer Shampoo, I was pretty reluctant to use it. I am a kind of an'all herbal products' freak and the idea of applying a dab of chemicals topped with beer on my head just didn't go down well with me. But I finally managed to build up enough courage to riot to the other end of the city to buy a bottle.

The Beer Shampoo comes in a beer bottle shaped plastic bottle, cap and all, though the flip-cap seems to be kind of weak, prone to opening while travelling. The color and smell of the shampoo bear an uncanny resemblance to beer.(Don't ask me how I know this.:p)

The shampoo in itself is quite thin, unlike all the other shampoos I have come across, which tend to be quite dense. I am a daily shampoo user and at first I wasn't sure if I could use this daily but after a week of using it, I haven't encountered any problems as such. But I did notice that the shampoo tends to leave my hair quite a bit frilly if I don't use a conditioner after washing it off.

Another thing I noticed about the shampoo is that you need to apply only a small amount to your scalp for each wash. Apply too much and your hair will feel quite dry and frilly.

The shampoo also tends to leave your hair smelling of beer, making the people around you feel you are drunk, (Some of my friends actually asked me if I was drunk. but well, it isn't everyday that someone asks you to smell his hair!:p) but thankfully the effect wears off, probably in an hour or so. I must admit I don't notice the smell as much now and this may be because I might have gotten used to it.

In case you are looking to buy one, three variants of the shampoo are available: 1. Normal,  2. For Dry Hair, 3. For Oily Hair, each priced at Rs 160 for 200 ml.

Will I buy it again?

I don't see why not.
