Originality:

Extra-ordinary skills, creativity and intelligence, always like to give the audience something unique in his movies. He puts his focus on each and every department of the film (from the standing of story, screenplay, the selection of cast, direction to music) very carefully.

Vidhu makes appearance with a period drama this time around like 1942 - A Love Story and hopes soar high the outcome on screen would be alluring as usual. This creative film-maker plays his innings for making scores and the history is evidence from Parinda, 1942 - A Love Story, Mission Kashmir to Munnabhai MBBS amongst many others all protruded with excellence with the cinegoers.

The melodious music is the main ingredient of Chopra's movies, which one can hum around every time. This Vidhu's adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhya's original classic 'Parineeta - The Married Woman' apparently looks to be targeted at the selective class due to its period theme but is equally audible for the hoi polloi music aficionados also.

Parineeta (Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal)

The concluding track, Parineeta' brings Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal back on track again to entice their fans. This song has the base music of 'Piyu Bole' but nonetheless it carries its own uniqueness. The song is a treat in both genres of lyrics and music also. A rhythmic end of this fabulous album

The listener does not mind hearing Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal for the third time in a row since they are doing mellifluous jobs altogether. A sober number, 'Soona Mann Ka Aangan' presents the full-throated delivery by Sonu Nigam and a superb performance by Shreya Ghoshal. The song impresses you lyrically and musically too.

The Sonu Nigam looks genius whereas Shreya Ghoshal is swanky in her saccharine singing. The background chorus grows perfectly well with the song's theme. Swanand Kirkire with his creative poetry dins in marvelously. Jhankaar, tabla and dholak sound squashy on the ears amongst other instruments. The visuals, starring debonair Saif Ali Khan playing piano and heart-hauntingly gorgeous debutante Vidya Balan, look stunning on screen. The cinematography is excellent and utterly shows the bygone era, which the movie is based on. A classy beginning to the classy album.

The soothing pair of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal comes up again to beguile the listener with 'Kasto Mazza'. Steam engine's whistles initially and later on the song's flow please a lot and romanticize the atmosphere. Sonu Nigam is simply luminous in his rendition. Kids' chorus is what you would like to hear over and over again though the words are hard to understand but you happily want to give it a listen. Shreya Ghoshal joins in later but as usual hits the hearts. The track plays well on the pitch of lyrics and music also. The video is candidly gorgeous showing the yesteryear's famed train of the song 'Mere Sapno Ki Raani' with Saif aboard.. Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan both enthrall with their performance and the kids on the show deserve special mention as well.

Kaisi Paheli (Sunidhi Chauhan)

This syrupy soundtrack now features 'Kaisi Paheli'. The rapid-fire Sunidhi Chauhan gives a lively performance that the listeners loves to hear time and again. This track reminds us yesteryears' cabaret songs. Swanand Kirkire's intelligent lyrics glide well. The visuals are crispy starring legendary Rekha and suave Sanjay Dutt along with Raima Sen and Saif Ali Khan. The choreography is the true highlight of the number since it portrays the creativity of the choreographer who knows well the yesteryear's dance sequences of cabaret.

A semi classical track, 'Raat Hamari Toh' makes appearance next with Chitra and Sawanand dolling up the song with their deft singing. The pure classical lines rendered by Sawanand attract you the most. The willowy style, Chitra adopts, lures you in full. The nature has been well observed in poetry and music also. The chirping of crickets (which can be sounded sharply at night in a dreary drear place) when the song begins simply haunts the atmosphere and spells magic with the listeners. This track has lasting effects on the listener.

Dhinak Dhinak Dha (Vocalists: Rita Ganguly and Chorus)

Following next is a wedding song 'Dhinak Dhinak Dha'. The song is for the newly wed couple and sung brilliantly by Rita Ganguly and chorus. This number will now soon be listened in marriage ceremonies.

Parineeta - The Married Woman is already selling like hot cakes on music stands and it will surely bring huge sales for the makers.
