Somehow got the time to write my 5th review. This was really the toughest one for me to write. From starting till now bollywood has produced so many unforgettable characters that at one stage it became very difficult for me whether to chose this or that. However I have drifted a bit from the main topic. Some of the characters here are not unforgettables but they are in the list because of their class performance in that particular film. I have used a bit different form of writing in this review. So in the end please don’t forget to comment whether you liked it or not. So here is my list:
1) BABURAO G : This film marked the entry of Priyadarshan in the wo-
A rld of comedy filmmakers. This movie, I believe, also
PareshN marked the entry of Paresh Rawal in the list of all ti-
Rawal P me best actors. Making people laugh is the toughest
in A job for an actor to do. All the three actors including
HERA- T Sunil Shetty and Akshay Kumar has done their job to
PHERI R the best of their ability. But in the end it was Babu-
A bhai who stole the show with his versatile acting.
APTE O Hats off to him!
2) LAJJA S : Directed by Tanuja Chandra this film focussed on
Ashutosh H the issue of missing children. Although Ashutosh
Rana A Rana is not seen in today’s films, he did more than
in N a commendable job in this one and in Dushman
SANGHARSH K also. After watching this one I thought he would
A surely give other actors a run for their money. But
PANDEY R , don't know how, he got lost somewhere in
the storm.
3)MRS. MCNALLY/ D: Everybody knows about this film. From the little
E girl to Dhritiman Chatterjee, everybody has given the-
Shernaz Patel &B ir best performance in this Bhansali starrer. I was
Amitabh BachchanR thrilled by the acting of Shernaz Patel and Amitabh
in A Bachchan. For a moment I thought that Shernaz pat-
BLACK J el is the real mother of the little girl. Rani was also
not bad, infact Very good but in the end it was Amita-
SAHAI bh and shernaz I liked the most.
4) GABBAR S : Probably the best negative acting done by any actor
I till today in the history of bollywood. Whenever I see
Amjad N this film, I just wonder how can he be different from bei-
Khan G ng different from Gabbar Singh in his real life. Further I
in H don't think I need to tell anything about this film. Gao
SHOLAY ka bacch-baccha janta hai!
5) LALLAN : Some of the directors have the ability to bring out
Abhishek the best of the actors. Mani Ratnam is one of those.
Bachchan Abhishek Bachchan best suited the role of lallan or you
In can say he made it look like that. His role in this film
YUVA was totally different from his role in other films but he
handled it quite gently.
6)RADHESHYAM T: Hungama is one of my best comedy films and all acc-
E olades goes to Paresh Rawal for this. He is the only act
Paresh W coming twice in my list of ten. Her co-actor also acted
Rawal A very well in the film. It will be a treat to see if, like hera-
in R pheri 2, Hungama 2 is also released. Priyadarshan’s next
HUNGAMA I laughter project is Garam Masala. Let see how much gar
is the masala here.
7)BANWARILAL P: Some of you may not agree with me in this case. But I
A liked his acting very much in this film. As I mentioned in
Om Puri N the starting, some of the characters in my list are due
in D to their fabulous acting. Om puri very rarely do comedy
CHACHI 420E roles and this is one of his best performances till date.
Y Kamal Hassan, Amrish Puri and Paresh Rawal also dese-
rve a mention.
8) BABU : This character is really unforgettable for me. This is my
Manoj Bajpai best of Ramu’s films. The film flopped miserably in the
In box-office but it was a good entertaining movie. I think
ROAD Manoj Bajpai’s negative acting is much better than his
Positive. He is simply gorgeous in this film.
9) SARIKA V : She is first heroine and 2nd female character in my list.
A She was amazing in this film. She has done two different
Urmila R types of acting in this film. Her pre-arrest and post-arrest
MatondkarT actings are totally different. The film was also a good hit.
in A Don’t know why but I liked the title of the film also very
EK K much. I think it has that power of attracting people tow-
HASINA THI ards it.
10) ALI : This Ali Bhai of Dhoom is very close to my heart. Many
Udai Chopra people loved John Abrahim in this movie but Ali Bhai
in conquered my heart. As I said earlier, comedy roles
DHOOM are not so easy to perform, Uday Chopra has done
full justice to his role.
Other commendable performances in this field are Boman Irani in Munnabhai MBBS, Karishma Kapoor in Fiza, Aamir Khan in Dil Chahta Hai, Akshay Kumar in Aankhen etc. Not coming in my mind anymore. However there is one character which is not in the list. You will find that in the comment section. How can I forget to write about him?
