Paramasivan, was touted as the come back movie for a ''lean and mean'' Ajith kumar, who was once touted as the no.1 hero in the Tamil industry but had after that, fallen off the radar quite a bit. The movie starts Ajith, Laila, Prakash Raj in the main roles. The review follows

Prakash Raj is an honest cop, who is pained to see the ill happenings in the state caused by the bad men around. He decides that the only person capable of ending this is Ajith, who is a prisoner on the death row for killing 5 policemen. He approaches Ajith, who first refuses(which is customary in the movies). So Prakash Raj, hatches a plan and makes Ajith escape the prison and conveniently kills him off. How Ajith goes about ''destroying'' the evil forces forms the rest of the story. Also, there is Jairam a CBI officer who investigates the supposed death of Ajith. Vivek is the comedian in the movie. In between there is also the heroine who is mentally retarded?? :) There is also a customary flash back in the movie, which tells us why Ajith killed the policemen ( as if we asked)

Ajith ''In and As'' Paramasivan portrays the trailers of the movie. But Ajith falls flat on his face when trying to portray the main role. My opinion, he has become too ''lean and mean'' for his own good. His acting is also nothing worth writing home about. He just goes thorugh the motions. Disappointing comeback from him. Prakash Raj, as the police officers, works hard and saves the movie to an extent, but everything and everyone else in the movie lets him down. There is only so much which he can do and he does what is expected in the movie. Laila, as the heroine, simply grates on nerves as the innocent heroine. Really, can people be so naive?? And the director was quoting that this would be a movie which people would remember Laila for. Ya thats right they will, for all the wrong reasons. After a wonderful performance in Kanda Naal Mudhal, she is very disappointing. I am wondering what she saw in the movie to take it up first of all??

The support characters are equally disappointing. Vivek as the police officer is simply horrible. Is this the same guy who made us laugh in Minnale and 12B, to name a few. The joke, which is a spoof on Ghajini was horrendous, stupid, unbearable to say the least. Can't find more words here. Jairam, as the CBI officer has nothing much to do. Such a wonderful actor wasted. The villain was such a caricature. Why should baddies always be associated with long hair, unkempt beards, overflowing dresses? I mean this is not the 80's isnt it where such villains ruled the roost?

Some really (Unintended) but comical scenes:

  1. The sequence where Ajith snipes and shoots down the baddies

  2. The flash back scene

  3. etc etc etc

  4. The song which Prakash Raj dreams :)).... really the heights this one..

Coming to the technical aspects, we find our biggest culprit in this section. Why hello Mr.P.Vasu!!. I wonder whether he was really directing this movie or had he gone to hibernation sometime in between? Not that I am his big fan. This movie really and truely raises(or lowers??) the bar for the worst movie to release in recent times(along with Aadhi, another release, but that review is for some other day :)). I think he wanted to piggy back on the success of Chandramukhi, but failed to realize that there was the Super Stars charisma in that movie which this did not have. Coming to the music, a very ordinary effort from Vidyasagar I must say. His recent offerings have been good, if not excellent, but this one really is bad and I mean BAD. The background, is also a total mess up. To some up the rest, editing is Shoddy, and the producer must have save himself some money on the screen play as it was non existant. Or was it Mr.Vasu again at it? The entire movie is a downer

Overall this movie is a big No No unless you are a huge I mean HUGE Ajith fan. Even then it will test your patience. Now to the big question... Why did I not leave the movie hall during the interval? Wait, why did I go to the movie at all? Coz sometimes these things happen...and I am here to prevent you also from doing it...sorry if I am a bit late though...... :)
