When my hair grows it get a bit curly at the ends. So using gel like set wet and all dont help then,
Aftershower gel is different it gives u a shiny look and feel its non-sticky and long or short hair.
You can still do your spike or whatever style you want with it because it doesn't make ur hair hard like many gels do and it might not get u that hard look but it wont damage hair a lot of my friends use it too.
and I believe what u want at the end of the day is good hair and not damaged.
