Among the visit restaurants in Pali Naka, Papa Pancho Da Dhaba serves delicious Punjabi food. As you enter the place, the ambiance wins your heart. It is a beautiful set up and to give you an authentic dhaba feel, they serve in Brass plates, glasses and earthen glasses for curd.
Depending on what you it can be reasonable or burn a hole in your pocket. My experience so far has been a reasonable one. Ordering just the gravy and chapati may turn out to be expensive, as for more than two people one portion would not suffice. A meal, however, is enough for three people.
The consists of a gravy, a dal, curd and rice or chapati. If you opt for rice, ordering a few chapatis i.e. phulkas are enough. The food is rich and warm. Phulkas are soft and warm, feel like they've been served just fresh out of the tawa. Curd simply completes a meal. This costed us Rs. 450 roughly, 150 per head - pretty normal price for a wholesome meal. We made a mistake of ordering amritsari parathas once.
Mistake because they were expensive.Taste was amazing though, parathas with filling and we ordered them with a gravy(how stupid that sounds!) so we also had to order phulkas to finish the gravy. Heavy stomach and light wallet due to a heavy bill. Moral of the story: when you're here, you need to choose wisely. Your decision impacts your bill.
