I loved the thought of using Panteen from the commercials. You know - the one where the girl has smooth sexy and shinny hair. I believed that I, too, could have hair like that - fast forward.
I bought it, I used it, I used it some more. Yes it made my hair smell nice. Really, really nice! And it was softer, I don't deny that - at least for a little while.
One morning I jumped in the shower and tried to wet my hair - it had problems getting wet. This got worse and worse over the course of about 4 or 5 months, where my hair just would not absorb the water. I mentioned this when I went to my stylist and she immediately said ''Do you use Panteen?'' and I said ''yes for about 6 months now'' she told me that it lays a thin almost plastic coat over your hair to make it shinny, and over time, ruins your hair's ability to hold water. She advised that I discontinue use and move to something with less ''B.S'' in it, like Suave. I did, and within about 2 weeks, my hair was normal.
Though there were good points about this shampoo:
It made my hair smell good
It made my hair shinny
It made my hair look healthy
There were plenty of bad too:
It damaged my hair's ability to absorb water
It cost twice the amount of Suave
just to list a few
