A miracle product to get Smoother and Softer Hair. Review on Pantene Oil Replacement

As you guys have already seen the title. So, today I will be sharing my honest review and thoughts on the most raved product on social media by many Beauty Bloggers, i.e., Pantene Oil Replacement Leave-in Cream.

Before starting the review, I would like to give you all a little brief or introduction about my hair. My hair is smooth, natural straight, with medium density, and the little dryness going on at the tips of the hair, which tends to get frizzy during monsoon season. Being a makeup and hair artist, a special lookout for my hair is always needed. Hair Spa can also help to manage the frizziness to some extent, but it's not feasible for us to spend that much time and money in the salon, that too in this pandemic. Also, it is not cost-effective as spa does not last for more than a week on normal healthy hair. It's better to use any handy product which you can use anywhere and anytime as per the requirement.

Earlier, I was using L'oreal 6 in 1 Oil Nourish Oil-in-cream, that product was totally a worthy buy and it actually does wonders on my hair. Though, I don't experiment with my hair products too much, but when I saw this product, I thought to give it a go.

Coming back to the product:

It is a cream-based formula, which is introduced in the market keeping in mind as an international solution to the hassles of oiling. The formulation of this product is rich and creamy and can be applied to both damp and dry hair. To my surprise, it can be applied on dry hair as well as I refrain from using any cream-based product onto my dry hair straight away.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:

Pantene has invented the incredible Oil Replacement to give your hair the multiple benefits of natural oil without the inconvenience. It nourishes hair, reduces hair fall (due to hair breakage) and helps repair damage. It also acts as a final touch leaving hair soft and smooth.

This is because it's formula combines the power of oils with Pantene Pro-V science to treat hair, while it's creamy texture leaves it smooth without the stickiness.

PACKAGING:

The Oil-in-cream is available in a very classy, gorgeous golden-yellow colored tube with a golden, flip top cap, that makes the tube more sturdy, spill-proof, easy to carry and travel friendly.

COMPOSITION:

Here I am segregating some of the best ingredients, which are good for your hair. By no mean I am trying to say that other ingredients are bad for your hair. As per my knowledge, please see the list down below:

GLUTAMIC ACID: It's an acidic amino acid, which provides strength to our hair.

PANTHENOL(Vit B5): These are high anti-oxidants which protect and nourish the hair.

CITRIC ACID: Works as a natural hair conditioner.

LIMONENE: Helps to tame down the frizz of the hair.

Rest other ingredients are some parabens and some chemical formulations to preserve and store the composition.

TEXTURE:

The texture of the cream is neither too thick nor too runny. It has a medium-to-thick, creamy consistency which glides smoothly on my hair, even on dry hair. The color of the cream is white and it gets easily absorbed in the hair quickly without leaving any residue or cast on the hair. It does not feel sticky or oily and makes hair more manageable and smooth to touch.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:

The product is widely available in the local drugstore and cosmetic stores near you at very affordable prices of Rs. 85 for 80 ml and Rs. 150 for 180 ml.

SHELF LIFE:

3 years from the manufacturing date.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

I have used this product in multiple ways:

1. Use as a pre-conditioner or hair spa treatment before doing shampoo, to detangle the hair easily. Apply the product on hair lengths and massage gently. Keep it on for good 20-30 minutes and use shampoo from the same range or any of your choice, followed by a conditioner for long-lasting results.

   
   




2. It can be used as a heat protector before blow-drying, curling and straightening of the hair.

   
   




3. Post shower, on damp hair use this cream as a leave-in cream by taking a desired amount starting from the top along with the lengths and comb through the hair for equal distribution of the product. It's a non-rinse conditioner. Hence, no need to be washed off after application.

   
   

As the formulation of the cream contains oil, which provides deep-nourishment to the hair, and works great on hair, thus making them more manageable and soft to touch, keeping in mind the product should be strictly applied on the lengths only, avoiding the roots/scalp completely.

This cream is good for dry/dull/damaged hair too. It repairs dry-rough, textured hair, providing the hair a nice shine and finish to it. It works great and can be replaced with serum for frizz-free hair.

OVERALL REVIEW:

A chemical based product can never be as effective as natural oils, so, can't be replaced as well. One should not skip oiling, no matter how busy their schedule is. Oiling needs to be done at least once in a week and such leave-in creams should be used as a part of the hair care regime just like we use facial creams. However, this product is good for the normal dry/damaged hair, as the regular usage of the product, can make the hair texture smoother and tamed. But, for extremely damaged hair, it will going to work to some extent by giving them necessary hydration to tame down the rough textured hair. Overall, it is a good product and everyone should use such handy product to look gorgeous in no time.
