I am a die hard Panasonic fan. I had already owned a Panasonic Home theatre which till date I cherish a lot. So when it came to buying an LCD TV, it was to be Panasonic all the way. I researched a lot on LCD TV's of Panasonic, Sony, Samsung.

I noted the co prices as well as Internet prices. Finally I zeroed in on 3 products Panasonic TX-32LX800C, Sony KLV-32V400A/B & Samsung LA32A450C1 and went about showrooms trying just 3 models (instead of getting confused with dozens of them on display). I visited Next showroom on Gokhale Road, Thane for my final purchase ( no reasons for choosing Next except the heavy discounts offered) and brought the panasonic product after a lot of deliberations. The Shworoom offered me the TV for 37000 INR but I showed me the internet proof that the product was available for less than that and finally bargained for a price of Rs 30999/- with free installation. Now for the actual details for choosing Panasonic;

1) IPS Alpha panel: Genuine panel with 178 deg viewing angle which I confirmed in showroom. Also the Panel is made in japan and not in malaysia or china. Confirmed the trueness when I pressed my finger on the LCD panel and found no black marks due to gas which I found in Sony and Samsung LCD. Very useful since my son would be touching the screen very often and did not want any LCD damage.

2) 100 Hz frequency: Only LCD with 100 HZ freq in that price range. very few other models available with this feature. Very useful feature for fast moving pictures, tried with DVD "Fast and Furious".

3) Full contrast: the contrast 10000:1 is full and actual. Dark images are displayed perfectly instead of greying.

4) SD card slot. A good feature if any photos are to be displayed instantly from your digicam or mobile phone SD card. Fantastic resolution.

5) HDMI slots (2) are available for PC inputs.

On the negative side, the LCD is heavy with most the AV & HDMI connections at the rear of the TV making it difficult to access the same. Also the sound output is only 20W RMS (which is same for most of LCD models) hence requiring a Home theatre for best sound effects, I luckily have one and that too of Panasonic. The LCD is not Full HD but still plays HD signals.

I compared Panasonic model along with others individually. Thanks for Next Showroom which arranged for individual viewing (meaning I asked all other LCD's to be switched off except for the model I was viewing). Main reason for going for 32in model was the living room space 140 sqft with 8 ft viewing distance. The installation was the very next day after booking by panasonic authorized personnel, could not check the actual performance of TV since I did not have either cable or DTH connections but later when I got the DTH ( tata sky) I was not let down by Panasonic. Overall a good product to buy.
