We got the BSNL Landline connection in 1997 and the BSNL gave us a free Land phone along with it. So we have using it since then until 2007, when it broke down. But I fixed it back on and wer using it again until 2012 and then we decided to ditch it and buy a new phone.
I watched my mom running from bed room/kitchen to Hall end every time when she received a call and I felt that was real dangerous for her to run from corner to corner at the age of 55. So we decided to buy a cordless phone. So we started to go across the market to know about different brands. And most of them just had the single sets which is the cordless line alone. But I found Panasonic only having twin sets - one a basic phone with caller id and an another set which is a Cordless. And so we went for it and its still working great.
Today's land phones should be selected in such a way that they should be more convenient with lots of specs in that like - Caller ID, twin set for single lines., intercom, speed dial, phone book and so on.
And Panasonic was most impressive because it was small and light weight and had the intercom facility so that we can talk between the two sets for Free Within 50 meters range.
But wat today's lands phone is missing is the call recording option.
Today, we have kept the main land set at the hall and the cordless at kitchen. The phone also has the option to add an second cordless phone in future, so that I can keep it at my bed room.
Overall, it depends on personal decision to buy a Cordless phone. But as far as I am concerned "Panasonic brand" is awesome.
