This review holds true for both GD55 and G50. In a country dominated by Nokia-users, thanks to the ''reliability'' and ''safety in numbers'' approach people usually take, innovative brands like Panasonic and Sony are usually never even considered.
This phone has just about everything one would want from a smart basic phone. Extremely compact in size, its one of the best models to hang around your neck, or put in your pocket without a worry. The small size might be deceptive when it comes to features. Generous SMS storage space, call registers, user-friendly features like Alarm clock, scheduler with comprehensive calendar, memos, currency converter, calculater add up to the overall value you get for the small price you pay. For those who love some frills, it has attractive wall papers - more than 10, decent ringtones, option of colours for the background and contrast-brightness controls. The screen size is large despite the compact phone size. The only thing that might be a problem is the keys, but trust me, within two weeks, one gets used to it very easily. For just about Rs.5000, this phone surprises you in many ways.
A regular Panasonic user, this is far better than GD 68 which used to be my earlier favourite.
