I purchased a high end Panasonic TV 55CX700D(cost rs1, 56000) from radhika sales pune. As there was 3 years warranty offered on the product, I dared to invest so much on a electronic product.


Within one week of purchase there was a shadow or'vignetting effect' what it's called in technical term, started appearing on the corners of TV. This kind of defect is not expected in such a costly product that too within a month of purchase.


I called up customer and and they inspected the tv saying that the panel is faulty and will be replaced.


They did the replacement in 20 days time. Immediately after that I was transferred onsite so I handed over the tv to my parents and left.


I want home after 2 years and was shocked to see that black burn like effect was all over the screen of tv. My parents never cared to notice that ever so I called up customer care and the turned up.


The tv was inspected by service center personnel and was found to be faulty again. At first they told me that it will cost me 70000rs to replace the screen but when I told them that I have 3 years warranty and shown them the proof they told that it will be replaced free of cost.


Initially they assured that the faulty part will be replaced but later they told us that these parts are not available anymore in market so they will have to replace the Tv itself.


To my surprise, the TV offered in replacement was much cheap(less than half price) and inferior in specifications compare to the original TV.


They gave me option of full hd tv instead of 4k tv of same size or samller size tv(49 inches whereas my tv was 55 inches) that too after paying extra money.


To justify this trade, various company policies are being narrated to me.


Let me bring this to your notice that I bought this high end TV in much more price than available on the internet just because 3 year warranty was provided in shop purchase.


Now when TV did not even last for 2 years(not even 2 months technically), I am being compensated by goods not even worth half the price.


The panasonic service center has agreed to replace the tv with model(55EX600D) wich is currently selling at price rs76000(As seen on amazon) which is less than half of the price in which I had bought my current tv(1, 56000 rs).


The huge difference in price is acceptable as I understand electronic goods price depreciate readily.But what I expect is a tv with at least similar specifications.


But specs of proposed tv are pretty low which is again acceptable to me.


The sad part is that we are being demanded 14000rs on top of it for this replacement.Which totally seems inappropriate to me as I am already settling for a low spec and low price tv.


And I know that this not how a'Warranty' works.


I mailed the all the situation to Panasonic helpline but they were least bothered. I don’t think I will ever buy any Panasonic product ever again as I am aware now that they are selling cheap Chinese product under big brand name.
