Peacock Seeing. Review on Palakkad

Being a resident of palakkad and also so near to the Peacocks I just cant stop witout saying about this magnificiant place Mayiladumpara.This grove takes its name from the large number of peacocks found here.The best time for visiting this place is during the monsoons and alsowhen the harvest begins in the month of august & september. Thesuitable time to see the peacocks in the glory is and the full flok isat around 6 am. This is around 30-35 Kms away from Palakkad Townand the nearest place or town is Thiruvillamala. You can see 50-60Peacocks in a group in the other time of the day you would have to gosearching for the peacocks which you would find solitary in the forestsnearby . There are buses to this place but you would not find it intime and stay as of now no hotels are there. nearby You also haveanother attraction known as Punarjani this place is of religiousimportance too.People only visit this place only once a year.
