Salam This is well not really a review but a comment to what I am noticing when I see or listen to Desi pop. and for me there is no doubt that Indian pop has no quality music to offer. it more or less survives for cause the pop-videos show half naked jumping gal with remixed or bhangra style music in the background.
But when I see pakistani pop I really see a very good combination of western music and desi music . but still u wil say pakistani pop has its own identity. And that is why singers like Atif aslam, Junoon, Strings, etc are becoing popular in India. The not only make good music to lsiten to but also good videos that do have am meaning and idea, .u see that there is kinda art behind it.
And pakistani pop also trys not hurt sentiments of the country´s people "har cheez ek tehzeeb ke andar hoori hai " but no one will say that pakistani pop is backward although there r no half.naked girls jumoin around:) cya Adil
