When I saw this movie in a TV channel. I was shocked and could never understand what this movie had to do with Oscars nominations.

I usually see only certain movies without reading its reviews. This was one among them as I had great hopes and expectations on the movie. This movie was also one among them that I didn’t even see the promos of it. My expectations on the movie were also high. It was because of the star cast which includes SRK, Rani M, Juhi and AB. To the fact when I saw the movie all of these got dissolved like a salt in the sea of many other normal movies. I also come with such a worse critic about the movie as my hopes were too high.

I would also say that the story line also caused me some discomfort. I couldn’t accept that a girl born and brought up in India, which should have nourished her with the culture and values of Indians, would be convinced to live a life with a person who is not her real husband. Though there was some patch up on the screen play where she replies to the ghost saying ''No one has ever asked me what I want.'' Though it’s a heart-stopping moment I was not perfectly convinced with that. That’s one main reason why I meant to say I don’t want this movie to be showcased in Oscar or get nominated for it. As of a country in the recent days we are known for our growing economy and Information technology industry and Automobile industry in boom. But for years India is known for its culture and values.

One thing which solaced me was that whether kishen or the ghost or Rani, all the charecters where ready to speak the truth though it was bitter.

The character which moved me was the character portrayed by Sharukh as Kishen the real husband of her. Who though away from his wife remembers his values.

Then comes our AB in the climax scenes, though he has a very small role to play. His way of handling the responsibility is very good and the way he delivers the stream of dialogues is also very fine. There is nothing for me to Brag about him he by himself is exceptionally good and exceptional.

Now the technical aspects of the movie is pretty good the cinematographer has made Rani look more beautiful and also the way the people have tried to recreate a story on the base of the Rajasthani environment is also really splendid.

Its worth to mention the music. It really depicts the rajasthani tunes and was pretty splendid. The concept of story telling was also very good with puppets popping up often and making the movie more interesting. The dance sequence with SRK and RM dancing like puppets also good. But I feel it is another copy of a choreography done in a Tamil Film “Bose”.

Beyond all I would say there were lot more good movies last year like “Swades” and “Black”(Though it is a replica of a English film) were pretty good than this movie. I feel they also should have been given a chance to compete with “Paheli”. As far as I felt, they were more better than “Paheli”
