?Hamam Mein Sab Nange Hein.. aur Hum Saboon Ka Dhanda Karte Hein.? Page 3: Another much awaited movie from the stables of Madhur Bhandarkar, the maker of movies such as Chandni Bar. Well, is it worth the wait? You decide.

The plot: Madhavi Sharma (Nandita Sen) plays a Mass Communication student, who works for the Page 3 of Nation Today, a daily news paper. As it is well known, Page 3, is the third page of any newspaper, which put in the words of the film maker, is read by everyone, even if the whole page isn?t.

The story revolves around the journey of a sane journalist, head and shoulders above the celebrities she covers, around whom her life revolves. Circumstances, make Madhavi Sharma join the Crime Beat of the same newspapers, and that is when, her life gets a severe jolt.

The film does give the lay person a decent look of the slimy underbelly of the Page 3 culture, which has everyone from a politician to an ACP in its belt. The film pokes fun at almost every big do and bash we had ever read about, right from Dimple Kapadia?s candle launch to any party ever splashed across the Page 3. So, it is an eye opener.

Let us speak about he movie, as a movie now.. The movie will amuse and then bore any and everyone even relatively in the know about the film industry. As for the lay person, it may be a bit interesting as a novelty thing, but after half an hour, nobody wants to be in the party, which doesn?t talk about ending. It lags a bit, what with two long parties thrust into the first half.

It is on the second part, when Madhavi finds out that her boy friend is gay, a rich man is a pedophile and that drugs are an every day occurrence, and acid parties didn?t go down with the ?70s, that the movie stands out. The film may or may not work successfully because of the dragged first part, but is a must watch for anyone who has sons, daughters, brothers, sisters or any one related to them, who must be ready to throw away a nice job or education, to go on the Page 3.

As a film industry insider, I can well and truly say that whatever is shown in the film doesn?t have even an iota of hype or fabrication. Whatever has been shown, is very much what goes on, once the cameras stop rolling..
