Rajput's review of the movie Khiljiwat: -
TLDR; This movie doesn't do justice to the warrior spirit of the war loving Rajputs, the house which gave birth to Maharana Pratap, Bappa Rawal, Hammir Singh Sisodia, Rana Chunda, Maharana Sanga, Maharana Kumbha etc. Almost each and every frame of this movie contains mistakes.
Jauhar is usually performed first and followed by Saka. They had the option to convert and surrender or fight bravely and Rajputs chose to fight and perform Jauhar & Saka. The Movie doesn't show this warrior side of Rajputs. Jauhar is performed first and Saka of Rajput Warriors is to be performed in the morning, where they put their dead wives and family members' ashes on forehead, put tulsi leaves and Gangajal in mouth and wear Kesariya Bana and storm out opening the gates of the fort and fight till the last breath and drop of their blood, killing as many as they can because they now have nothing to lose, whom they loved are now in heaven and their only desire is to meet them. It's all out war; the annihilation of the self or enemy. Not showing Saka of Rajput Warriors is an utter disgraceful act by Bhansali. And if after coming out of theatre you talk about actors and their acting then you should know this movie is a disrespect to the Kshatriyas.
Jauhar and Saka is not entertainment. In the movie Princess Padmini is shown from Sinhal; it used to take about 8 months to travel to Shri lanka at the time and Enemies were in India and he can never afford to leave his kingdom for 8 months; Shri lanka people aren't even fair complexioned. Bhati Rajput Punyapal of Poogal ki Beti Padmini ko Shri Lanka ki bata diye. Jauhar aur Sati me antar nhi pata aur movie bana diye. She was daughter of Rawal Punyapal Bhati of Poongal, Rajasthan and her mother was Jamkanwar Chauhan, of Sinhalwada, Rajasthan. Jayasi himself says that he has heard the story and based this story. He never visited Chittor. Probably princess Padmini spent more time in her Nanihal( her mother's house, Sinhalwada, Rajasthan) and that's why it's said that she was from Sinhal. Her father Punyapal Bhati was also going through tough circumstances. Jayasi just wrote a fictional account of historical events i.e. he made mistakes and did the same thing which Bhansali has done now by adding more mistakes and keeping existing ones. Jayasi mistook Sinhalwada to Sinhaldeep.
Jauhar ke liye Rani Permission maang rahi h, Jab Sati ke liye permission nhi chahiye hoti hai toh Jauhar ke liye kiski permission. Kshatraniyan order karti thi aur unke order ka paalan hota tha. Patta Sisodia ki mata Jauhar ke arrangement karne ka hukam sunati hain unhe, jab Rao Jaimal ghayal hue the aur laga ki Akbar ki senayein kisi bhi vakt fort me enter kar sakti hain. Haar ke agar pati aaye, toh aisi bhi Kshatraniya hui hain jinhone kile ke Darwaje bandh kar dena ka hukam suna diya aur apne hi husband fort me nhi ghusne diya.
Deepika ko jyada footage dene ke chakkar me Rani Padmini ko Bhej diya Allaudin Khilji ke paas, aur jo ladaai Rajputon ne 3500 sheesh katakar jeeti aur Ratan Singh ko bachaya uska khuleaam majaak bana diya. Khilji Rani chupke se bhaga deti hai Rawal Ratan Singh aur padmini ko. This is not even mentioned in padmavat or any other literature or folk, in any account except for Bhansali's own mind.
Aur bhi bahut mistakes hain, Badi Rani ko villain bana diya; Puri film kachara hai kuch dialogues jarur acchhe hain. Wo bhi kehkar koi ehsaan nhi kiya. Par jo kabaad kiya hai uska kya; aur isko ye Bhansali mahasay history bata rahe the. Ab log ise hi history samajhne lagenge.
Itna kuch hota hi nahi agar Sarkar ek prescreening committee bana deti jo history par banane wali script ko hi pehle check karti. Aage bhi banti rahengi aisi movies, har baar virodh ka rasta kyun open rakha ja raha hai. TV par abhi Parmar Rajput Raja Munj par ek show chal raha hai Prithvi Vallabh, wo kitna historical hai. Main kisi karni sena ya koi bhi sena se nhi hu, aur karni sena har baar movie oppose karti rehti hain, aur agar koi screening panel bana diya jaata toh behtar rehta.
