I studied in PSBB KKN from UKG till 12th -2003 Pass out, and I completely agree with Arun Prakash .There are so many schools that are functioning these days and every school operates based on a trusted learning program, with PSBB it is CBSE .
My personal view on PSBB with 13 years of my time in KKN .
=> CBSE education - This is one of the highest standards of education pattern followed in the country and pretty much self explanatory.
=> Extra curricular - Education is vital, so are extra curricular activities. PSBB is one of the earliest schools to open a Swimming pool in house. Regular training camps in Cricket, football, hockey basket ball etc is conducted every summer. Students are taken out on inter school tournaments of high standard where they get exposure on how to compete professionally. This applies to all Indoor and outdoor sports .
=> Co Curricular - During my time, Exnora, Karuna(Social service) NCC, RSP and other clubs were present . You can google for the description of these clubs.
=>Teachers - Personally, this is where the school excels . The teachers are like mothers. In the 13 years, I have never got a single beating from any of them, all that they do is encourage and help the student grow .
=>PSBB uniqueness -
1)Career Identification - During the secondary school(11th - 12th grade), all students are assessed on what their interests are, this is analysed and the interests are conveyed to the parents . Most students know this, just dont realize or voice it out due to choice of parents/friends or any other reasons.
2)Culturals - Reverberations is PSBB's cultural festival where all major schools(CBSE/ICSE etc) participate . Students get to participate/see and explore multiple talents in here -Music, Dance, Elocution, fashoin etc.
3)Tuitions - Most of the Chennai's famous tuition teachers/institutes either practice inside or near the campus which makes it easy for the students to commute between home, classes and school.
4)Talents - The school takes effort to bring in famous people to inspire the students to grow. Speeches are conducted at the school campus in order to motivate and inspire. Abdul Kalam, Shankaracharya(during my time)have visited the campus. Many Cine and sports celebrities have passed out from PSBB .
5)My personal favourite -Elections for SPL(Not sure whether it is present now) used to happen where a full fledged campaigning happens for one whole month(During the breaks of course!). This happens on the same lines of how the election happens in India, based on voting system.
The fact is, by the time a student steps into the 12th grade, he/she has to be equipped, groomed and most importantly know what one wants and PSBB extracts this in an individual by providing the best possible exposure along with high class education .
I am sure all PSBB alumni will unanimously agree .Kindly talk to people who studied in PSBB(at least for 4-6 years) and take a feedback on the school .
