This is a very nice movie based on the autobiography of Arunachalam Murugan. The versatile actor Akshay Kumar portrays the life of a villager who dearly loves his wife and bears all the criticisms from everyone around him just for his wife's health. He tries to fight with the world to break the age old taboo and customs followed by women during mensuration period. Everyone blames him for his behaviour and does not understand what he is trying to do for the women of his village. At last everyone including his wife leaves him behind out of shame for what he is upto.
This movie gives you a wonderful message that if you really yearn for something and if you keep on trying for something then success will surely embrace you. People will never accept you until you become successful and nobody will see the struggle you take. Society might mock at you but do not stop until your goal is met.
The songs especially aaj se tera are very melodious and the lyrics are quite meaningful and charming. What I liked most were the dialogues of this movie. The speech made by Akshay Kumar at UN was really very touchy and motivational too. The movie throughout was a culmination of a sweet love story , struggle, inspiration , motivation to become successful through your hardwork.
I felt really proud of the real pad man ie Mr Arunachalam after seeing this movie. He has done such a great job by saving the lives of many rural ladies. He has not only improved the health conditions of women but also have given them a livelihood in his factory. Nation has rightly honoured him with Padma Sri. Thus, do watch this wonderful movie which spreads a lovely message.
