PVR is very casual about the safety and modesty of its patrons. If you face any kind of misbehaviour or disturbance from another viewer, don't expect any kind of help from even their security staff. You are on your own. This is my true experience with PVR. I even wrote to the higher management at PVR but they didn't even care to respond.
It was september 2006, I was at PVR Gurgaon with my family for a noon show. A man having his seat behind my wife started to trouble her and did it so many times that it was sure that he was doing it deliberately. When I asked him to behave himself he was very rude, forget an apology. And his remarks were not quite assuring of not repeating the misdeed.
Not surprisingly, none from the audience said anything to that person, rather they were upset about getting disturbed during their movie. I didn't find it appropriate to create a scene there and looked to seek the security's help but was surprised that there was no PVR staff inside the auditorium. I rushed to the candy bar and asked the attendants over there for intervention and a lady attendant accompanied me to the auditorium. She was so casual in her approach that after speaking to that person she said to me "He won't do it again". I was shocked. As if we were liable to be subjected to it again and she did a great help by saying what she said.
I met a manager of the cinema after the show and apprised him of the event. I then asked him why wasn't the troublesome person moved out of the auditorium and he said "We can't do that". He didn't seem to be realizing the gravity of the offence and refused to answer my question "What kind of help can a viewer expect from PVR staff / management when he / she is being troubled by another person in the cinema premises especially when the victim is a female?" I could sense that PVR's primary concern is that the show should not be interrupted even if it at the cost of the dignity of its patrons.
I later on sent emails to feedback@pvrcinemas.com putting up the same question. Its been more than 5 months and many reminders but PVR has not cared to even acknowledge my mail, leave apart addressing the issue.
I have now decided not to patronize PVR cinemas anymore.
Thanks for your time.
