Wherever you cast a tired glance looking for reprieve unanswered questions come up before you like unclambered walls.

Is there life after death? What are astral bodies? Do ghosts exist? Are myths nothing but mutations of real events of the yore? Is there life beyond earth? Are little green men real? Is the world coming to an end?

In the midst of this brainstorming tirade come television shows like ‘the X-Files’, ‘The Extraordinary’ and the latest ‘First Wave’ and of course their movie counterparts that keep the curious juices flowing as to the existence of such bizarre occurrences.

‘Curiosity’ is the keyword here because curiosity is what fueled Actor/Producer/Writer/Singer Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters, Blues Bros., Saturday Night Live) to devise the idea for a television show called ‘PSI FACTOR: CHRONICLES OF THE PARANORMAL’

Each case delineated in the several episodes of this ‘Alliance Atlantis’ production are fictional versions of actual case-files recorded in the logs of the O.S.I.R (office of scientific investigation and research).

The O.S.I.R is a private, low profile organization (as depicted in the show) that explores incidents that are paranormal (dictionary meaning-psychologically abnormal) in nature.

The word PSI stands for parapsychological phenomenon, which in O.S.I.R terms is defined as “any of several types of events that cannot be accounted by natural law or knowledge apparently acquired by means other than usual sensory activities”.

Dr.Anton Hendricks (director of operations) heads the activities of the (TV Show’s) O.S.I.R, his pristine leadership skills keep the boat from sinking case after case.

The rest of the investigating teams consist of experts from various fields who lend their proficiency to the swift explication of all the near baffling cases. Matt Praeger (the case manager played by Matt ‘Mad Murdoch’ Frewer- remember him from ‘A-Team’?), Lindsey Donner (senior data analyst – Nancy Anne Sakovich), Peter Axon (chief science analyst- Barclay hope), Mia Stone (parapsychologist- Joanne Vannicola) and finally Dr.Claire Davison (pathologist- Soo Garay) form the team that set out to enucleate the unexplained.

From UFO sightings, crop circles, occult practices (e.g., ‘Wicca’, ‘Voodoo’), psychokinetic activity to the existence of mythical creatures like ‘Trolls’, ‘Wendigo’ or ‘the Loch Ness’ the O.S.I.R teams leaves no stone unturned in their inquest. Their efforts and methods are woven well into the easy to under stand script. With unpredictable twists and turn of events each episode makes for engrossing viewing.

But what sets ‘PSI FACTOR’ apart from other shows in the same genre is the fact that it surely is a one of a kind anthology based on real events. Besides each case is solved within the span of one episode except for season finales that go on to two episodes.

But then, those of you who are curious about the fascinating, enigmatic world of the bizarre and the paranormal get a loada of ‘PSI FACTOR: Chronicles of the Paranormal’ you will not be disappointed.
