PK Rajkumar Hirani Weakest Work

If I had to rank each of Raj Kumar Hirani's films in order of excellence then I have to say that PK would come last after both the Munnabhai series films and 3 idiots as film does not have the wholesome entertainment of earlier films and  the message it strives to give also appears somewhat confused.

The film at best can be termed at best a time pass entertainer  as the humour is bit risque, acting by lead actors is at best passable and story at the best despite its attempt at novelty is pretty predictable and if you pay attention then you can guess what is going to be the final outcome.

The film weakest point if you ask me is the main twist surrounding jaggu and sarfaraz angle which can be something that clearly can be seen in tv soaps.

I think the biggest flaw with the film is that although  it has ambition of trying to expose godmen and business of religion but unfortunately it keeps playing around at the edges without really going deep to expose the problem in a systematic and logical way.

And due to lack of clarity and conviction in going whole hog at the issue it ends up looking like a criticism of one religion and it seems writers realized that and few passing scenes were thrown at other religion cliches to show that they were not biased

The film also tries to show how Indians have Pakistan phobia and how they are biased towards Pakistani ppl in a wrong way which again appears half baked.

Because they don't show prejudices that might exist in Pakistan  for Indians and again film appears to be taking potshots at Indians

The film in the second half has a lage raho munnabhai type hangover but to be honest is not as successful and sensitive in any of the scenes like lage raho munnabhai

Story

The film basically is a story of an alien who has come from outer space to explore planet  earth and then his remote through which he can return back home gets stolen and then the whole film basically shows his quest to find that remote and how he discovers god and ppl trying to do business in name of god and how he exposes them with the help of jaggu a journalist

The film also has track of jaggu and sarfaraz  a cross border love story which falls and rises to various cliches surrounding India and Pakistan.

it also tries to showcase the absurdity of media good moments the scene where pk tries to gives various gandhiji pictures for carrots pk stealing clothes from dancing cars pk showing how money can be made from a makeshift temple performances.

Aamir Khan to me now looks tired and his acting does not have intensity and enthusiasm of earlier and quite clearly needs to reinvent himself and unfortunately age is also showing on his face Anushka Sharma is ok and her role does not have nothing extraordinary for her.

Sushant Singh Rajput is good in his special appearance, Sanjay Dutt looked a bit loud to me and Boman Irani does not have much to do...
