PK - A huge Disappointment

I watched the movie and came out of the theater feeling VERY disappointed.

My Take on Cast:

According to me Aamir Khan, the Protagonist of the movie is a Big Minus of this venture, My Choice would have been someone like Farhan Akhtar for the character of Alien, he is someone who always surprised us with his style and approach and took the roles he played to a different level. Or Someone like Ranvir Singh or a new comer could have done more justice to the Character, the PKs role.

We had already seen Amir playing funny characters a lot of times before. Aamirs appearance and performance didn’t come as a surprise. He didn’t do anything different this time as well.

(I personally feel that he is one of the Overrated Actors we have in our country. Seems as if he stopped growing as an Actor/seems his acting skills are limited. Experimenting with different roles doesn’t really prove one’s ability to perform. I think Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor are better Actors than Aamir.Time and again they proved the same).

Anushka Sharma – She is one of the fine actresses of this generation, No Doubt about it!

She was wasted in the movie. The Character Jaggu is boring and is predictable. She looked and performed much better films like JTHJ and other earlier films of hers.

Sushant Singh Rajput -  He did a decent job, But in my opinion  there isn't any need for this character in the Story/Movie. It seems as if  this character was created only to attract the neighboring countries audiences aiming at an International Box office success/Overseas Success, Director could have easily replaced it with an Indian Character and made it simple for Viewers.

Sanjay Dutt- The ‘Lucky Charm’.His Character could have been extended for a bit longer than what we got to watch on the Big  screen. A Crowd puller like Sanjay Dutt was also wasted in this movie.

Boman as Editor of the News channel: This is not definitely one of the Roles of his which will be remembered in Future.Easily Forgettable.

Story and Screenplay:

You will find nothing new in the Story and the Characters are no surprise.Aamirs Look and style of acting is quite boring and not really Funny. Screenplay could have been better, there are some scenes which if deleted/pictured differently could have been easier for parents who went to the Theaters with their kids to watch this Movie. It felt very inconvenient watching these scenes in the theater with our kids around.

The movie on the whole doesn’t give you the same level of Satisfaction and happiness as Hiranis earlier movies did.

PK, the movie according to me is ‘Soul less’. It is like any other ordinary below Average movie  of today’s generation. You can wait to watch it on TV.

Music:

Except for a couple of average songs, there isn’t much to talk about the Music in the film.

Songs and BGM of the film didn’t really add any value to the Film.

Final Words-

From the Greats like Vidhu Vinodh Chopra and Raju Hirani, One cannot expect a bad movie/Story, a poor narration like this. Hope they continue to come up with more Scripts like Munna Bhai, 3 idiots in future with a great Screenplay and Cast supported by great Music!
