This article is not only about the magazine Overdrive, but it is about every Auto magazine which has written some great songs of praise and approval about a Catastrophic Vehicle called Honda Activa!
To get a proper understanding about this article, I suggest you to kindly read my previous article named 'Catastrophic Honda Activas'. So that you will get a clear picture of what I am trying to say.
Now coming to the point, when we see the latest issues of Auto Magazines on the news stands, with a twinkle in our eyes we see them with anticipation. And our curiosity, interest and anticipation gets doubled when we see the article of a vehicle which we are about to buy!
But sad to say, in reality most of our Indian Auto Magazines are mouth piece magazines of the Auto Manufacturers! Rather helping and guiding us to buy the right vehicle, they take us far a fancy ride with their misguiding information.
Before we proceed further, one question to all the readers:
Have you come across in any issue of auto magazines related to any vehicle article, where the magazine discourages us in buying a particular vehicle, because the magazine have found some fatal defect in that vehicle and advising us, unless the concerned vehicle manufacturing company corrects the defects, don't buy that vehicle?
Did any one of you come across such advice from auto magazines?
What if such a fatal defective vehicle is 'Honda Activa' which has got no balance and tilts towards right side possibly causing a serious injury to our spine in the long run!
In contradict, the auto magazines have sung never ending praises about Honda Activa!
Read on to know their antic's, when I question them about the imbalance and right tilt in an Activa:
- Auto Car India- They seem to be surprised about my querey itseems and went to Honda showroom to test drive the Activa and confirm themselves! wow!
Then what the hell they have been doing ever since the Activa has been launched way back 3 years a ago? That means evey time somebody mails them about a querey, the auto car india mag. will go to the showroom and check it again for themselves!
When I insisted to draw some clarity on the issue, they got so dejected and were clueless. And insisted that I don't pose such questions to them which they have no idea! (Then why did they wrote some very positive review about Activa, which in reality it is not there?)
- Bike Guru, by this name some guy calls himself of a leading auto magazine which I am unable to recollect the name of the magazine.
Bike Guru's version: Bike Guru says, that he has run Honda Activa for 2 km's with his hands off from the handle bar. And he says it was rock steady and straight for all that 2 km stretch! wow! wow!
Can anybody tell, from where the Bike Guru has got fuel supply to Activa's carburettor for all that 2 km stretch, where Bike Guru's both hands were off from the handle bar?
Or, are we unaware that Bike Guru is also a Magician? Please, somebody let us know...
- Overdrive auto magz: According to overdrive...we have all got a chronic disease it seems! Some people while driving a 2 wheeler take the right side seating stance and some left it seems! So accordingly the seat cover slides it seems!
When I asked the overdrive, does that statement of his apply only to Honda Activa drivers only or to any 2 wheeler driver? His answer was, it applies to all 2 wheeler drivers!
When I asked him, if that is the case, then why on earth only Honda Activa's seat cover slides towards right side only? and why not to left?
And why there is no such slide in other vehicles where the driver will be seated according to the way he(overdrive) described?
From that day, this guy has vanished to respond me!
So folks, I guess I have tried my best to describe what I went through with these antic guys who suck! They just mesmerise the ordinary people with flashy pictures and some automotive abbrevations!
But in reality, they are a Mouth Piece of Auto Manufacturers!
Don't you all think we should teach them a lesson and show them that, we Indians don't take the things lying down anymore!
Here are some of my ideas of teaching them a lesson:
Don't buy any Auto magazine! (Because we don't die if we read it a bit later or next month)
Go to a public library and browse through the information which the auto mag. has given. Just seek the info. not the advise.
Confirm, clarify and discuss with friends and auto dealer before you buy any vehicle. and cross check the info. of auto mag. against the vehicle! Before you buy any vehicle, check for your comfort level with that vehicle by driving atleast 2-3 kms. If the auto dealer refuses, move on to the next one. but don't buy without checking your comfort levels!
Even if you need to buy a magazine just buy one and share that info. and mag. with atleast 50-100 people.
If you find anything contradicting with the actuals of a vehicle and what the auto mag. has written just bombard them with your remarks individually, so that they will know how many people are not happy with them!
Lets show them that we don't take their trash just like that!
