Oudh 1590 is located in Saltlake near tank no 3. I went with my colleagues last friday for lunch to Oudh 1590 to enjoy authentic Awadhi food. The decor outside the restaurant is itself so beautiful that it attracts everyone.
As we went around 2 in the afternoon there was no waiting queue and we were directly led to our table. All the staff and managers were dressed in awadhi dress which added to the ambience. The several paintings of Mughla's time on walls added to the splendid ambience.
Coming to the food all the items were cooked in mid spciy range and was on sweeter side. We ordered shahi chicken biryani which came in earthen pot covered with aluminium foil. As it is a lucknowy style biryani plz do not expect potato. The quantity was good and cost was Rs 390 per bowl. We also ordered mutton casa.
The staff was humble and food was served was quickly. The biryani rice was remarkable. It was less oily and tasty.The quality of food was good. We had good time and enjoyed our lunch.
Though a bit expensive a good try.
