This city has the best of both worlds... Review on Ottawa

Ottawa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen...call me a romantic, but this city oozes of old world grandeur and the new world opportunities. The huge stone buildings in grey and brown, the tall looming white churches with silver trimmings, the long winding, yet very organised city speaks for itself as a well-planned city, surely by the rulers of yesterdays...

I landed in Ottawa on Nov 7th and I has just missed autumn...and winter was beginning...so came Dec and I saw snow for the first time....and believe me, I loved it!!! I has a wonderful white Christmas and it was exactly as I thought it would...beautiful, serene and lots of Christmas spirit...I even had a mistletoe on my door, as I had just met someone special, and now he is my fiance!!!

I like the whole idea of having four seasons...so I can have hot chocolate during winter, chai in spring, iced lemon tea in summer and warm apple cider in autumn....what a wonderful feeling...

Ottawa has one of the best malls ever - Bayshore, Rideau, St Laurent, Place'd'Orleans being my faves, with an array of different brands, designers and other boutiques, clothesline, shoes, accessories etc. And the food..there is no difficulty in getting any kind of cuisines...be it Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, Canadian, etc etc and my personal fave is Haveli's for Indian, Kanata Sushi or Kinki's for Japanese, Mexicali Rosa for Mexican, Boston Pizza for awesome drinks and food...yummy...

My all time best looking street is Sussex Drive and my fave hangout with friends is York Street, Elgin or Byward Market...the best restaurants and cafes are on these streets...Sometimes when I am contemplative, I like to stand on the Mackinze King bridge above the Rideau Canal and look over one of the best views in the city...

Ottawa also offers lots of options for adventure seekers...Petri island near Orleans has one of the best artifical beaches and lots of organisations have white water rafting, hiking, camping etc etc...and for those who like to keep fit, the Ottawa Community centres offer volleyball, basketball, and more sports around the year...

I have fallen in love with this city and hope you will get a chance to see it soon...
