This place is on the top floor of Ansal's Plaza. Now that is a region in the mall I, like many others, never bothered to explore. But I'm glad I finally decided to go there. The first thing that struck me was the decor and ambience looked far classier than the cheap-north-Indian-version-of-Chinese we see in Delhi.
The next thing that overjoyed me was that the waitress(es), I think there were two of them serving us, were not dumb at all! In Delhi, I am yet to come across another place that does not have dumb waiters! When you call for a waiter, and he stares at you for 10 whole seconds before responding; when the waiter gets you tap water when you ask for mineral water; when the waiter gets the next table's order to your table; when you ask the waiter to repeat the order and he repeats a totally different story from his tiny notepad.....then you know you're in Delhi! Customer service in restaurants is something that, in spite of being so important, is ironically missing in all restaurants in Delhi, Chinese or otherwise.
Anyway, the initial experience I had up to this point gave me the feeling that maybe it would be such a bad place after all. I was again overjoyed on tasting the food. It was amazing, not a bit of the essence of north-Indian Chinese. Well, the food was a tad expensive (four dimsums for Rs.175 is expensive!) but on the whole, it was a very agreeable experience. I can't wait to go back there again!
