From a grateful GTB Customer. Review on Oriental Bank of Commerce

My initial days in chennai, missing moms cooking and trying to learn a new language and fighting the heat. There was a huge Advertisement display on the way back home near the Valluvar Kottam Library. I say to myself '' They say anything to get more customers''. End of this review you will know that I was wrong.

When you change your job, lot of things change for you. Which also includes your bank account, in this case your corporate salary account.I got into this new office, and So I had to switch over from UTI bank to Global Trust. My details were collected by the HR executive Mahalakshmi ( remember this lady), and the very next day , my ATM / debit card , Phone banking PIN, Net banking PIN were sent to me by courier. Impressive !!!. I get a call from GTB, asking me if I have received everything, and if there is anything else I need to know. Well I did ask her a lot of details, not because I needed to know , because I had to hear more of the lovely voice. She was very patient and very prompt in answering. I remembered the advertisement I come across every time I go back home.

I am very known for losing my ATM cards. I have the longest history of loosing ATM cards. Either leaving it in the machine and walking off, or forget my PIN in which case the machine retains the card. Well, in this case , My colleague was going to the bank , usually the common practice is you give the card to your colleague and disclose your pin number to him. So did I just like other colleagues of mine. Guess what , he brought me the money, he brought in all the 3 cards of my other colleagues , except mine. Reason, THE ATM machine booted, as soon as he put my card in and the machine retains my card. Ok, So I pick up the phone and going through this series of dial 1 for English, dial 2 for information on products and stuff like that, the front office asked me to hang up since there is a call coming in. and Guess who, It was GTB Customer support . She told me not to worry and the card will be sent by courier. she ended the call with a Sorry for the trouble, please let us know how can we help you. On the way back home I saw that advertisement again. I smiled !!!

There was some problem at my house in Hyderabad. there was still a week to go for the pay day. the Finance manager was on leave, and being a Saturday , there was no one I could ask for help. The fact is I had to fly to Hyderabad. Just tried my luck and called up the bank. Overdraft approved in just one phone call !!! . I paid back the OD within a week, and I wasnt charged at all for that. I got a letter from the bank saying that , treating my situation as a special case , they arent charging me on the over draft. I thought of that Ad. they really kept their promise.

One day I was waiting in line at the ATM. This pretty girl walked by. ''excuse me, do you have a pen'' she says. I could have hopped and reached for the sky , and pull out the stars for her. But I didnt have a Pen. I was looking for the sky to send me some help, and then , like a prayer answered comes in Mahalakshmi. She knew this damsel in distress. they both exchanged Hi's and hello's. Maha ( Mahalakshmi) is my colleague. Maha, surprised to see me, says hello to me. I gestured to Maha that I wanted to be introduced to this girl. Ms. Damsel in distress's MS id is FLORA009. Today we both ride back home on her bike, We come across the Advertisement I mentioned.

It has a lady saying '' I may not be their biggest Customer, But they Treat me like one''
