4 years back I got a nice job and cell phones increasing the value of the males carrying it, I bought one. Asking around I find out that Orange is the best service I get. I get an Orange Pre-Paid. Good to use, Very reliable. Good Cost-Wise and so on. TIme goes by and I no longer need a cell. Story Over. Good Experience, leaves me with a good taste in mouth. Flash Forward to year end of 2003. Need a cell again, get an Orange..with all high hopes.


And then the story begins..... Due to the bad habits that are formed by the internet and my job I am inherently tied into email.. and soon I discover that I can communicate with the cell via email. so there begins the journey of sending emails to the cell to friends and receiving these emails.


Until one fine day, I am called up by friends to be asked why I dont bother to reply to these emails anymore and I am shocked. Told them that I was just not receiving any and they got madder at me. This drove me to call the orange call center. That must have been a truly bad day.


First thing I am told by the orange gal is that there is no such thing. that no one can send emails to the cell and that I should confirm the same. About 5 minutes of haggling with the girl and total frsutration on hitting the wall with such a person, I request her to check.


After being put on hold for eternity, she comes back and lets me know that such a service was never available. I request her to put me thru to her senior. and instead am put on hold for another 'eternity', she comes back and says that she has confirmed with her senior that such a service was not available. ANother request to speak to the senior person, another 'eternity' on hold and then she comes back and comfirms that such a service was indeed AVAILABLE and that she has confirmed the same with her technical person and that she will take care of the same.


A couple of months pass and the again the same story. No emails again !!!! The first thought that I get is that I should switch. But distributing the numbers being a major hurdle, I call back the call center. Going through the same circle of gal-senior for abt 10 minutes, this time I get to speak to the senior. The senior gal finally confirms again that the service was available and that it was available on a TEST basis and that the same has been shutdown. After asking her if I could get the same for a charge I am told that the service is now shut down..(no details of when the service was shutdown is available). Another question regarding if they can provide the same service with the Post-Paid card and they are unable to provide details....


Another month goes by.. Suddenly I start receiving messages from 303 regarding missed calls. A couple of times I think it is because of my location within a building or so. But about 15 days back sitting in my office around 2 pm I receive a call from a friend asking me why I have set up call forwarding. Since I am sure I have not done any such thing. After the call I receive an SMS from 303 informing me abt missed calls and when I send an SMS I receive the call details.


After speaking to the call center I am informed that this is due to network congestion and that there is nothing I can do but send an sms which by the way is costing me money to 303. Am wondering if these people can be dragged to the court for not providing me services for what I have paid for, since it is their network which is not capable of providing these services.


Almost every second day I get this SMS of a missed call, even when I have full service. I think this is a SCAM by Orange to extract money out of its subscribers !!!!!! Please let me know if the same problems are faced by the Post-Paid subscribers
